Ronen “Roni” Koresh, Artistic Director

Roni, a native of Israel, began his career with the renowned Batsheva Dance Company of Tel Aviv. Immigrating to the U.S. in 1983, he studied in New York with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater prior to settling in Philadelphia, where he performed with Shimon Braun’s acclaimed “Waves” Jazz Dance Company. After performing internationally, his interest shifted towards choreography, and he founded Koresh Dance Company in 1991. Shortly after, in 1993, he opened the Koresh School of Dance, serving as a residence for his company and a training center for the Philadelphia dance community. In addition to receiving numerous grants, Roni is a recipient of several choreographic fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, the PEW Charitable Trusts, and the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. Roni regularly travels to conduct master classes, set choreography, conduct residencies, and showcase his company throughout the country.

Sarah Shaulis

Sarah Shaulis started dancing at a young age in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Throughout the years she has studied at numerous dance studios within the area as well as performing as a child actress and dancer at several professional theaters such as Hershey's music box Theater.  In 2012, Sarah began her pre-professional training in the Koresh Youth Ensemble under the direction of Melissa Rector, Assistant Artistic Director of Koresh Dance Company. In 2017, she was offered an apprenticeship with Koresh Dance Company and continued her training with Roni Koresh, director of the company. As she continues to perform and tour, she also teaches and choreographs in and around Philadelphia area, sharing her love and passion of dance with her students. She officially joined Koresh Dance Company in 2017.

Callie Hocter

Callie trained at Jody Phillips Dance Company in Kansas City before moving on to study dance with a concentration in Jazz at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. While at school, she was privileged to perform in many choreographic works including pieces by Ronen Koresh, Larry Keigwin, James Gregg, Jim Cooney, Adam Hougland, Mark Burrell, and Kiesha Lalama. Along with performances at school, Callie has danced back up for Weird Al Yankovic at the Benedum Center and at Hershey Park's Music Box Theatre where she was able to work with Broadway's own, Chip Abbott. Callie joined Koresh Dance Company in 2018.

Jocelyn Hrzic

Jocelyn Hrzic has been the Director of Dance at the Grier School for over 20 years, which also includes the Grier Dance Summer Intensive Program. Jocelyn created the Grier Gala 15 years ago and enjoys presenting artists and companies such as Lar Lubovitch, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Koresh Dance Company, BareDance, Qui Danse, Giordano Company, Ate9, DanceWorks Chicago, Rennie Harris PureMovement, and many more. She is also the founder of Motion Dance Competition and Convention. Jocelyn danced professionally with Maxine Sherman Company, Theatre West Virginia, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean. Mrs. Hrzic was also the Executive Director of August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble. Jocelyn was a dance major at Point Park University and on full scholarship at Steps on Broadway. Her choreography has been selected at Reverb, Jazz Dance World Congress, Dancing Under The Stars Festival, and Steps Lab. She also has taught at Point Park International Summer Intensive, National High School Dance Festival, Rock West School, In-Motion Bermuda, Millennium and Maries School, Monterrey, Mexico, DanceForce and Flash Dance, Mexico City, Slippery Rock University, Whirlwind Dance Intensive and Muhlenberg College. Currently, Mrs. Hrzic teaches for Andrea’s School of Dance and Legacy Dance Complex and is also a Guest Teacher at The Dance Company and Centre Dance. Jocelyn’s extensive work with world renown artists both professional and collegiate has given her the chance to help young dancers from all over achieve their goals of wanting to dance not only at college level, but professionally.
